When it come to the decorating I realised I hadn't actually picked out a colour scheme, it was harder than I thought having to visualise what it was going to look like. Admittedly, I am a nightmare for shopping and had picked up so many different little bits along the way. None of which were colour coordinated and I hadn't got any of the important bits, furniture, paint etc. I decided on a duck egg and cream colour, as I didn't want it to dark and make the room look smaller.
The alcove was boarded in and created more space. I wanted to put solid shelves in there and had a picture in my head of the ones I wanted. However, I was finding them all a bit to pricey, so I cheated instead!
To create the solid oak look, I brought some basic shelves from B&Q, costing a whole £6 each. I fitted them into the alcove and with the excess (4 inches) glued them to the front.
Now I am not saying I am a penny pincher, However I do not like to spend a lot of money where it isn't needed. So I made a little visit to poundland and purchased these beautiful buddhas and pebbles.
I needed somewhere that I could work from and that was easy enough to keep stock organised. I purchased this kitchen trolley and as tempting as it was to stock up on wine, I used it for all my products instead.
Brought from Argos for £109.99
I know I will be forever changing how the salon looks but for now I love it and I'm so happy with how everything looks. I've had such great feedback and compliments, as long as my clients are happy... I'm happy!
