To start any form of business you need motivation, you wouldn't be thinking about starting one if you wasn't motivated. I wasn't the most academic at school and my common sense is any always has been beyond shocking, but I work with what I have got and I make the most of the things I am good at and work harder on the things i'm not so good at... (Okay maybe not when it comes to cleaning)
'If you are not failing every now and again, it's a sign you are not doing anything very innovative'
When I had the idea of working for myself, I must admit I was worried about my mentality and if it was something I could realistically do. Some days I would be feeling like I could conquer the world and my enthusiasm and motivation would be beyond belief. Then other days I wouldn't want to get out of bed and didn't want to do anything but eat, sleep and just be lazy! These kind of days would bring me down and I would feel like a failure, it was as if I was punishing myself to having 'me' time! But we are all human and we all have our bad days, something that I learnt to just accept and enjoy. So instead of feeling guilt I soaked up the duvet days, the binge watching of netflix and the struggles to get in the shower and made it feel like a positive rather than a negative
Before I got my own little beauty room, I had a lot of time to work on myself and to figure out what I really wanted out of life and what it was I was going to do to get there. Almost like a 5 year plan!
So here is mine, based on my career goals.
To be trained in the following:
- Open my own Salon
-Still find time to travel
I am a very visual person, so as soon as I had the ideas in front of me it was easier for me to work towards them. I am currently at the stage of owning my own salon (even though it isn't the real deal yet) I am nouveau and HD trained and I have my holidays booked throughout the year.
I am slowly getting through my list and I can't wait to have them all ticked off and keep on setting new goals. The skies the limit!
